Venison Chili

Cool weather calls for chili! As soon as the temps drop, I'm headed to my freezer for the ground venison. This is the easiest and best thing to throw into a crock pot overnight, with very little prep needed.

VENISON CHILI
Ingredients
2 lbs ground venison (or ground beef)
1 large onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp cumin powder
1.5 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1.5 tsp salt
.5 tsp black pepper
15 oz black beans, drained & rinsed
30 oz kidney beans, drained & rinsed
30 oz diced tomatoes, with the juices
10 oz diced tomatoes and green chilis, with the juices
Brown the meat, then combine all ingredients in the crock pot. Cook on low for 8 hours. Dad cooks it all night on warm then bumps it up to low and lets it cook throughout the day.
SERVE WITH
Frito scoops, sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado, green onion, and cilantro
